- Bloglines wasn't hard to set up, but Google Reader was much easier.
- Google Reader was easier to add feeds to my list
- The log in for Bloglines is really small and out of the way
- Bloglines is less cluttered, making it easier to read
The main point for me, however, is this. In Google reader, it tells me when there are new posts and I can see them easily, however, I can also look at the older 'read' posts. In Bloglines, once I've 'read' a post, it disappears. So if I check Bloglines at work, see that Gabrielle has a new post, by the time I go back to comment on it from home, that post is gone and I have to go to her blog in order to see it again.

Hi, Heather.
If you want to keep using Bloglines, at the bottom of the page where you read the posts (on the right side of the screen), there is a button to change the display. If you set it to "All Items" you can see everything, even old posts. You can also set it for a week, a month, or a certain number of hours. That should keep you from having to visit the blogs directly. Hope this helps!! GMC
That does help, thank you!
(as I'm typing this I'm noticing that Blogger doesn't seem to have a reply to a comment option. Am I just missing it or does it happen automatically?)
Heather,
I agree Google Reader was a very easy setup especially if you already have a gmail account. I agree that it was easier to add subscriptions in GR, however I found the ability to immediately add the subscription to a folder in Bloglines very useful. However, I also found the multiple selection of feeds when adding a subscription in BL to be an unnecessary feature.
I also agree that Bloglines is a less cluttered and more streamlined interface. I prefer the BL interface over that of GR.
Good comparison :)
